NYFWF11 ♥ JENNA'S VINTAGE FUR BONNET
Georgia
Gosh, where should I start in describing my admiration for Georgia? With her name? Love! Or should I gush about her amazing style? Or should I express how impressed I am with her dedication to her studies- she's currently preparing her thesis to become an architect. Or should I say how much she rocks because she also works for a major P.R. firm here in Milan. Or should I commend her courage in following her passion to become a stylist? Or should I share that she is just a really sweet girl? Lots to admire, no?
November 30
I can't believe that it's already the last day of November. The only thing that is convincing me is that it's starting to get pretty cold here in Mi. Cold enough to break out the fur. And Bambi's chubby is a perfect way to stylishly brave the falling temperatures. Especially paired with skinny leather pants.

Max Mara Atelier
A few weeks ago while walking home from an appointment, I passed Max Mara which had recently dressed its window to display its Fall 2010 sun glass collection. The collection is gorgeous, but what really caught my eye was the first few pieces of outerwear used in the display. After the dominant presence of camel and fur coats/fur accents on the Fall 2010 runways, I had decided early out (in March) that it was an absolute must that I visit the incredibile Italian fashion house to pick up a coat for the fall. Seeing these few pieces in the window amplified my excitement for what was to come and jogged my memory about the house's Fall 2010 Atelier collection of coats that I had the pleasure of viewing back in March.
The collection of "made to measure" sartorial beauties includes these two key fall looks. This camel coat is an exquisite example of feminine-meets-masculine. The coat, inspired by the traditional men's dress coat, is tempered with a feminine silhouette along the waist and is accented with a superbly draped collar. The grey coat also takes cues from men's wear and is fabulously decorated with a luxe fur hem. Both coats are sophisticated and timeless, qualities that are synonymous with the Max Mara design aesthetic. If there is one thing that I have learned since moving to Milan, it's that Italians know their outerwear. I feel like with two coats like these in your closet, you could fulfill not only all your Fall 2010 outerwear needs but also those of the not-so-near future. What do you think?
Fur
I'm in the mood for fur today. Are You? I mean it doesn't look like winter is going away any time soon. Have you heard about the blizzard that's assailing Washington D.C.? The district is basically paralyzed. So I say, grab a warm cup of something or a cup of something that keeps you warm (hey it's the weekend), and let's look at some great fur looks that I captured during Milan men's fashion week.
cropped- A great smile tops off Avril's Russian Folklore-inspired look.
vested- Sarah, always stylish with perfectly measured edge, giving of total chic-nonchalance in a V-neck mini and sleek OTKs.
pocketed- Sherwin, another stylish member of the Prada visual team, is the sweetest person ever! And, he always has the most enviable hem lengths!
military luxe- Ekaterina's look was hard for me to resist. Have, I mentioned my love for military-inspired style, especially parkas? Ekaterina goes straight for my heart by layering this old Mandarina Duck parka over a fantastic Boss Orange textured maxi-sweater with fur collar. The layering here creates such great movement in the look. No?
vintage- If you are anything like me, and itching to get into some of spring's hottest trends without freezing your tooshie off, then Giulia's look will totally inspire you. Throw on your favorite vintage fur chubby with a pair of soft, fluid pants and accessorize the look with a vintage structured purse. And voilĂ , spring is in the air!
