Happy Halloween!
My husband picked up this adorable Melissa & Doug "knight role play costume set" at Doodle Doo's for our son while in NYC this past week. Melissa & Doug is probably my favorite toy company, and Doodle Doo's is my favorite children's hair salon and toy store. Our friends at Doodle Doo's are so sweet, they always remember my son even though we only visit, at maximum, three times a year. It's one of my favorite places in NYC.
Le Pom Pom de Sonia Rykiel

Maxi love part II
The über creative Louise Ebel in a personal interpretation of the maxi-dress + moto jacket look. I love how she pairs this very feminine hat and these seventies-inspired sandals with this otherwise edgy/feminine look.
I could live in either
Two of my favorite menswear inspired street style looks from SS11. I love the leg on the denim, the white button-down of course and the trench draped over her shoulders; the boots are also so up my alley. The three-piece checked suit is serious. She is totally effortless. The hat elevates the look to total bad-ass status. Excuse the language.
dying for layers
dazed and confused
i am getting really impatient with the weather here in nyc!
started getting cool + then the past two days were humid + warm. grrrrr.
give me layer weather!!
With a twist
The title of illustrator Marie-Victoire De Bascher's blog, With a Twist, is also a fine way to describe her style. I love the way she layers this tweed blazer over a belted v-neck sweater and calf-length skirt adorned with the finest polka dots. Her hat, printed bag and cherry-red sandals mix to create the right twist.
P.S. I love all the hats that we've been seeing this season, especially Marie-Victoire's. Doesn't it remind you of the "outback" style hats? Super stylish!
agate
fmag
i have a HUGE obsession with agate pendants right now!
really liking the ones in the roberto cavalli s/s 2011 show ♥
style whiplash
If I knew that TTH would be pulling out all the fashion stops this FW, I would have worn a neck brace (can you imagine, maybe a embellished one, ooh!). I can't tell you how many times I experienced sensory disturbance after whipping my neck in compromising positions to fully take in her amazing style. Hey what ya gonna do? Occupational hazards. But seriously each look was a show stopper!
that dries van noten parka
wayne tippetts
i don't know if i could even wear it! it's a piece of art.

KENNETH COLE
last week i was invited to the KENNETH COLE showroom for an intimate,
sit down dinner to preview the spring 2011 collection.
an invite came on a sony bloggie with a special video message from kenneth himself!!
the presentation was gorgeous, the clothes + accessories to die for + the food delicious!
while we ate waiters carried around trays displaying the fab shoes- so cute!
ooo and i had a chance to speak with kenneth- super charming + funny ♥
my coveted items of the night had to be the brown leather bag + the green wrap up sandals.
Maxi love
Rowan's maxi-dress/motorcycle jacket combo is an all-time favorite look of mine. It's chic, it's feminine and it's got the right edge. And topped with this fedora, the look is downright fierce. In fact, this is one of the looks I feel most effortless in. I can't tell you how many times I've worn my personal combo of midnight blue maxi-dress and motorcycle jacket. I've worked the look day and night and several times a week. Hey, when it works, it works.
Vanity Fair ♥
just realized i never shared this with you!
VANITY FAIR named me one of their favorite fashion bloggers ♥
the feature was in their september issue with lady gaga on the cover.

country charm
I fell for Nadia's style on first glance. I love the way that she's styled her total vintage look. Equal parts cool, equal parts feminine and equal parts outdoors. In fact, I fell for her when she told me that she's living between the countryside and London. I've been looking for a country house for sometime now. Somewhere close enough to Milan where I can whisk my little man off to at a moments notice. Nadia and I already promised each other that she'll visit once I find my little country nest. For more of her incredible style, drop in on her at FrouFrouu.
