Dolce & Gabbana Girl's Best Friend

"Girls just wanna have fun." This past Friday, Stefano and Domenico sent a little love to their favorite girls by transforming their Via Spiga 26 boutique into a wonderland for everything feminine. The ladies were invited to listen to the sweet set of house D.J. Natasha Slater; have their palms and cards read; indulge in the atmosphere of an old-school beauty salon while having their eyebrows thread; have a total make-over in the vanity room; and experience the Spring/Summer 2011 collection while sipping on the most refreshing prosecco served fifties-skate style. Eh! Stefano, Domenico...that's what friends are for. XO, T

L'ora dell'aperitivo

If you've ever visited Milano you may have had the pleasure of indulging in an early evening aperitivo- the Milanese version of happy hour, but a thousand times more chic. And if you were fortunate enough to enjoy an aperitivo in the springtime, then you are familiar with the infectious energy that radiates throughout the city during this time of year. Sidewalks are filled with gorgeous men and women sipping on refreshing glasses of wine and prosecco.
I'm usually on my way home at the hour of aperitivo, and sometimes I snap a picture or two. On a recent walk home, these two P.Y.Ts caught my eye with their flirty-chic aperitivo dresses-perfect for an evening out in the Spring. And aren't their Zara suede platform sandals so chic?

Diane Pernet and Vogue Italia ASVOFF

Yesterday evening Diane Pernet in collaboration with Vogue Italia inaugurated "Light Series", the Milan edition of A Shaded View on Fashion Film. The evening was charged with infectious creative energy as featured directors mingled and discussed their works; and as guests, in a variety of fashionable looks, provided plenty of style inspiration to fuel future cinematographic endeavors. Of note was the abundance of beautiful head gear- starting with Diane of course.

A Fine Estate

My mother-in-law thought that you might be interested in this. It's a vintage clothing and accessories estate auction taking place next week at the Ponte Auction House here in Milan. It features the wardrobe of the late Evelina Levi Broglio, who as my mother-in-law informs me, is a true Milanese style icon.

I'm excited to attend. I've been waiting for five years for an event like this (estate sales are rare in Italy due to the country's inheritance laws). Check it out if your are in town. For the mommies out there, this may be the perfect place to find a mother's day present. F0r those of you graduating in the next few weeks, I see a Kelly bag in your future. You totally deserve it! Please let me know if you find something you love! And yes, I'll thank my mother-in-law for you.

The viewing takes place this weekend at Palazzo Crivelli, Via Pontacio, 12; Friday, May 7- Sunday, May 9; 10am-1pm, 2pm-6pm. The auction will be held next week May 11-14 at 3pm. For more info: www.ponteonline.com.

Sweet Summer

While walking home yesterday, I spotted Erica Boldrin of My Free Choice carrying a familiar pistachio green bag. That's right, I thought to myself, Ladurée, the exquisite Parisian bakery, is opening a boutique here in Milan. Well I can't describe how fast I ran to the newly opened shop on Via Spadari 6. And there definitely aren't words to describe how much I love macaroons! It's going to be a sweet sweet summer here in Milan with the city's new yummy resident!
