Military Chic

Alix of The cherry blossom girl is beyond military-chic in a Marc by Marc Jacobs parka, See by Chloe skirt, Asos cardigan, vintage belt and Chloe shoes. She's a girl after my heart. You know how much I love military-inspired style. Whenever I look at these images, the Destiny's Child song "Soldier" pops into my head. "I need a soldier." Yeah!
Early Friday Evening
Is it legal
to be so darn beautiful? O.k. so I am majorly embarrassed here. I can't recall the name of this gorgeous girl. I know, it's totally unacceptable. But, no, you really don't know just how unacceptable. I'll share. First of all she is one of the nicest people I have ever met on the street. Second, she's a twin. Yes, there are two of them roaming around the U.K. Third, she's lucky enough to have access to all of her mother's vintage Equipment blouses. Fourth, she is absolutely adored by her boyfriend who ironed the Equipment blouse that she's wearing. And finally, her boss, Holli Rogers of Net-a-Porter thinks she's brilliant. And Holli did mention her name to me in Paris after I gushed on about how incredible I thought she was. Blah for me. Can I blame it on the fact that my Black Berry battery died as I was writing her info? Or that I was sleep deprived? Or that basically after the birth of P.J., my memory has been reduced significantly (my gynecologist says she gets this complaint all the time)? No?
I do remember, however, that her name starts with a K, and I want to say it's Kerry or Kiera. But aside from my faulty memory, I'm 100% sure that I love her combination of nude, olive, army green and wheat. Is that acceptable?

Floral forces and the season's clog

Here's another fun mix of military-inspired and florals, this time accessorized with Andrea's stylish clogs and lovely smile.
Camouflage

Camouflage is the new black. O.k., maybe not the new black, but definitely a favorite among stylish men like Josh Peskowitz (above) and Nickelson Wooster (below). Mr. Peskowitz is the Style Editor at Esquire.com and Mr. Wooster is the Men's Fashion Director at Neiman Marcus. Mr. Wooster is wearing Michael Bastian. Black or camouflage, I'm a fan of both looks.

Sporty Lace
Floral Forces

Isabel Costa's gorgeous look reminds of the military greens and lovely florals that came down the Dries Van Noten Fall 2010 catwalk. This look is perfect for me- I am currently living in a similar blazer by Theory. And, maybe I'll try the look out with my favorite military-green trousers or my new Giuseppe Zanotti military-inspired, peep-toe boots (Triple S: sample sale score).

Isabel is the director of Fashion Clinic, a Portuguese fashion boutique specializing in luxury brands.

Fur
I'm in the mood for fur today. Are You? I mean it doesn't look like winter is going away any time soon. Have you heard about the blizzard that's assailing Washington D.C.? The district is basically paralyzed. So I say, grab a warm cup of something or a cup of something that keeps you warm (hey it's the weekend), and let's look at some great fur looks that I captured during Milan men's fashion week.

cropped- A great smile tops off Avril's Russian Folklore-inspired look.

vested- Sarah, always stylish with perfectly measured edge, giving of total chic-nonchalance in a V-neck mini and sleek OTKs.

pocketed- Sherwin, another stylish member of the Prada visual team, is the sweetest person ever! And, he always has the most enviable hem lengths!

military luxe- Ekaterina's look was hard for me to resist. Have, I mentioned my love for military-inspired style, especially parkas? Ekaterina goes straight for my heart by layering this old Mandarina Duck parka over a fantastic Boss Orange textured maxi-sweater with fur collar. The layering here creates such great movement in the look. No?

vintage- If you are anything like me, and itching to get into some of spring's hottest trends without freezing your tooshie off, then Giulia's look will totally inspire you. Throw on your favorite vintage fur chubby with a pair of soft, fluid pants and accessorize the look with a vintage structured purse. And voilĂ , spring is in the air!
Greta, Parkalust

I'm sure that I have mentioned this before, I am a die-hard fan of military-inspired looks. Whether it be cargo pants or tough-girl/rock/chic parkas like Greta's, I'm all over it.

Right now I am beyond obsessed with Mr & Mrs Fur's luxe version of this fashion staple. Rumor is that Kate Moss picked one up this summer in Saint-Tropez. Lust, lust, lust!
EDOARDO

Military Casual. One of my all-time favorite looks. The uniform-green pants are the key-I've been wearing the same pair of camouflage pants for the last eight years. The moss green-stripe button down, serious amunition. The cream blazer, 98˚ in the shade. The boat shoes, forever cool tried and true.
